Report: Blockbuster Trade Brewing Between Blackhawks And Hurricanes.
"The Chicago Blackhawks have officially been labeled as sellers when it comes to Monday's trade deadline thanks to their recent stretch of losses. Defenseman Erik Gustafsson pretty much guaranteed to be shipped out of town as he didn't even make the road trip to Dallas for today's game and was held out of the lineup Friday. According to Blackhawks' insider, Mark Lazerus, of the Athletic, the Blackhawks and general manager Stan Bowman could be working on a monster deal with the Carolina Hurricanes. Lazerus reports that the Hawks' have had discussions with the Hurricanes about sending both Gustafsson and goalie Robin Lehner to Carolina. As Lazerus mentions, the return would have to be huge. We've heard that the Hurricanes are willing to trade one of their two first round picks and possibly willing to depart with defensive prospect Jake Bean. To land Gustafsson and Lehner it would obviously take more than just that. A package including both Robin Lehner and Erik Gustafsson could be on the table, but it's very fluid at the moment. That would have to net quite a return for the Blackhawks.

FWIW, Erik Gustafsson is a left-handed shot, but typically plays the right side. https://t.co/7bF9qIIxL5— Mark Lazerus (@MarkLazerus) February 23, 2020
Carolina already was interested in Robin Lehner. The Blackhawks' deadline situation might have changed dramatically in the last hour or so.— Mark Lazerus (@MarkLazerus) February 23, 2020
