League launches investigation on a bounty being placed on player
The Ontario Hockey League is looking into allegations that the Sudbury Wolves may have offered money to hurt a player on the opposing team.
This happened during a game between Sudbury and Barrie on January 18. Barrie player Kashawn Aitcheson hit Sudbury player Nathan Villeneuve hard but legally.
Even though there was no penalty, Aitcheson got into a fight with Nolan Collins, who was on Villeneuve's team.
In the next game three days later, Barrie didn't let Aitcheson play. This was because there were rumors that Sudbury might have offered money to hurt Aitcheson. The league is investigating this situation but hasn't said much yet.
The Barrie team said to ask the league about it, and Sudbury didn't respond to requests for comment. The teams play again on February 28 in Sudbury.
