Statistically, Reichel hasn't shown the results he's wanted throughout the season so far, but he's been improving during every game and having a positive impact on the Blackhawks roster. He's definitely showing his skill and incredible hockey IQ.

Interim coach Derek King had a few words on whether he plans on keeping Reichel under 10 games to extend his contract a year:
"I'm not sure of with that... 10 games, 20 games, whatever, it's more just letting [us] see where he's at and [letting him] play some games and get comfortable."

"He's not showing real results, but he's doing nice things by using his speed through the neutral zone. He's very smart...which is nice because he's always on the right side of the puck on the D-zone... He just needs to get comfortable."
