Reichel was selected at the entry draft over Dawson Mercer (New Jersey Devils) , John Peterka (Buffalo Sabres) and Tyson Forrester (Philadelphia Flyers).

Leaving high expectations for the young 6 foot tall winger. Reichel compares himself to Canucks forward, Elias Pettersson, with his amazing shot and speed.
