In the Bedard family, Connor Bedard isn't the first to lace up skates for the Chicago Blackhawks.

There are a lot of nerds in the Blackhawks' analytics department, so much so that they drafted another Bedard in the same family tree as Jim Bedard.

As a left-handed defenseman, Connor's great-uncle, Jim Bedard played 22 games for the Chicago Blackhawks between 1949 and 1951.

His professional hockey career ended with the Vancouver Canucks of the WHL in 1957, where he played 16 games and scored two goals.
