With the recent loss of Marc-Andre Fleury, the Blackhawks had to be quick to prepare more for their future between the pipes.
Just announced, the Blackhawks have signed 22 year old Jaxson Stauber out of Providence College.
Stauber has outstanding numbers, of course the competition does not compare to the NHL of Staubers former team- but Stauber put up a save percentage (SV%) of .940% , .933% , .920% and multiple other above .900% save percentage seasons.
Those numbers are comparable & better than numbers Tampa Bay Lightings Star goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy, Calgary Flames Jacob Markstrom and just .3% off of the New York Rangers Vezina race leading goalie Igor Sheshterkin.
Jaxson has one season left and eligible to play in college, but the Blackhawks convinced him to sign a entry level deal as of today.
Expect Jaxson to see plenty of games in Rockford, as a slot opened up there as well after the Blackhawks called up a goaltender from the minors.
