Terrible news strikes one of the Hanson Brothers
Over the past 45 years, Hollywood has produced some funny and excellent movies for the sport. From "Miracle on Ice" in 1981 to "The Mighty Ducks" franchise in the 90s, the game is entertaining on both small and big screens.
However, the movie most fans remember is "Slap Shot" in 1977, which was led by Paul Newman and became a cult classic among hockey fans worldwide. The movie is viewed as a sports comedy film, and it has aged well, like a fine wine.
According to Wikipedia, in 1998, Maxim magazine rated "Slap Shot" as the best guy movie of all time, and GQ magazine proclaimed it as the best sports film in the past 50 years.
From time to time, the actors of this film come back into the news, and unfortunately, today, some terrible news has struck one of the Hanson Brothers, played by Steve Carlson, who depicted Steve Hanson #17.
In an update from @Hanson Brothers, they tweeted, "Steve is talking, stable, and awake."
Carlson was also an actual hockey player, having played for the WHA, which was a rival to the NHL in the 1970s. He ended up advancing to the NHL and played for the Los Angeles Kings, scoring nine goals and 21 points in 52 games during the 1979-1980 regular season.
We want to wish Mr. Carlson the best and hope for a speedy recovery.
