Russian Court Makes Final Sentencing on NHL Prospect Who Bribed The Military

This NHL off-season was a highly-interesting one for Russian hockey players and also NHL fans who had a players who was born in Russia, by law everybody is required to do a certain amount of military service before a certain age, but some were exposed of bribing the military tons of money or buying a fake military I.D card.

Kirill Kaprizov was the biggest name who got caught, but thankfully made his way to Minnesota before anything could pursue in Russia. One prospect by the name of Mikhail Vorobyev, who is with the Flyers organization, got caught and decided to turn himself in to the Russian military and police as there was a warrant out. ''Mikhail Vorobyev receives a 2 million ruble (almost $40K USD) fine for bribery
charges related to trying to evade military service. The court took into account his young age, that he was misled, and his remorse. He got off extremely light on this one. Lucky.
Extremely lucky is sure right, as Russia does not mess around.
