The Edmonton Oilers have been looking to improve off of season's playoff run where the Edmonton Oilers would make it all the way to the Western Conference Finals.

Unfortunately for the Oilers despite having arguably the best two players in the NHL, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, the Oilers were outmatched by the Colorado Avalanche.
Despite having limited cap space Holland has been rumoured to be interested in acquiring both defenceman Pk Subban and forward Phil Kessel via free agency.

Both players are in their 30's they both would add a different dynamic to the Oilers roster if a deal happens. The Oilers have also been trying to shop forward Jesse Puljujärvi ahead of the season to help free up more cap space for the Oilers.
