The National Hockey League in conjunction with the NHLPA have announced amendment to the COVID-19 health and safety protocols league-wide.

The NHL will let teams impose suspensions if a player is unvaccinated. This includes unpaid suspensions for any days missed due to quarantine, travel restrictions, unless a player tests positive. However, the NHL will allow an exemption based on religious beliefs.
With the Canada and US relaxing restrictions, it is unlikely the same number of players, if any will be effected. Players will not be held out of their teams lineup based on vaccine status
To go along with health protocols, upon recovery, players will now be given a cardiac test to check for any issues.
Teams have a responsibility to disclose positive tests to media and fans alike and they are required to follow isolation rules by country. Club personal must also provide medical care remotely while a player recovers in isolation.
