One behalf of the staff at chicagohockeyinsider.com, we regretfully announce the passing of Orval Tessier.

Tessier won the Jack Adams Award in 1983, a season of which, he coached the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Blackhawks battled hard that season, but ultimately lost in a sweep at the hands of the Edmonton Oilers. He remained coach of the Blackhawks for two more seasons, before being fired.
Tessier also left a lasting impression upon junior hockey, winning both a Memorial and President Cup. He played games for the Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins and other teams in the 1950's.
The coach turned scout, got his revenge so to speak, when the Colorado Avalanche won the Stanley Cup in 2001.
Our condolences to the family, friends and hockey family who were impacted by the passing of Mr. Tessier.
