It is safe to say that Charles Barkley was not only a skilled basketball player, but also a solid enforcer on the court, just as Charles Oakley protected Michael Jordan during his years in Chicago.

It was in the 80's when the NBA still had a rock-em, shock-em style of play that is now missing from the game today.

Many people complain about the league ending the style of play as it is less defensive and more geared toward offensive outcomes, and Old Chuck is one of those people.

On Spittin Chiclets, Barkley would go on to diss the NBA, saying if an NBA player were to receive 75 stitches, he would take the maximum deal and go home while in the NHL, if a player was to receive 75 stitches, he would like to finish the game and help his team win the game.

As much as you can't help but agree, in many ways, both sports have evolved so far over the course of 30 years that the differences are astronomical.
