From time to time, players express their dissatisfaction with the teams they play for, citing various reasons. Sometimes, it's related to issues with the coaching staff and the way they are treated or managed, while others stem from contractual disputes. Another common cause is clashes between egos, which can lead to unwanted problems in the dressing room.

Well, it appears that Alex DeBrincat, the former Ottawa Senators forward, has now revealed why he was unhappy with the Senators and why he decided to leave.

It seems that DeBrincat has a particular perspective on his role within a team's hierarchy and did not want to play second fiddle to Brady Tkachuk. And even more...

"DeBrincat made it impossible for the Senators to bring him back and even more difficult to trade him to anywhere but the Detroit Red Wings."

"Sources say he didn't like his role as a second-line winger behind captain Brady Tkachuk. If that's the case then DeBrincat really did have to go."

His teammates also did not care he was leaving, and had this to say:

He played 82 games last year with the Senators, scoring 27 goals with 39 assists for a total of 66 points, but had a dismal plus/minus rating of -31.

The 25-year-old, who was drafted by the Blackhawks 39th overall in 2016, has now signed a long-term contract with the Detroit Red Wings.
It is expected that he will have more ice time and will likely play beyond the top line alongside Dylan Larkin, as the Red Wings are striving to change their approach to become playoff contenders once again."
