Happy Birthday Adam Boqvist! The young Swedish Defenseman turned 22 years old today! Born in Falun, Sweden on August 15th, 2000; Adam would go on to be selected 8th overall by the Blackhawks in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft just a year after his brother Jesper Boqvist was selected by New Jersey in the second round.

While Boqvist had a short tenure with the Blackhawks, playing in only 76 games and recording 29 points, he did quickly make an impression on fans likely due to his friendship with roommate (or landlord?) Alex DeBrincat.

After being sent to the Columbus Bluejackets last summer as part of a trade package for Seth Jones, Boqvist recorded his career highs for both goals and points with 11 goals and 22 points in only 52 games. He also record a new career high ATOI of 17:03, and his 11 goals were enough to have him tied for the 15th most among all NHL Defensemen. Boqvist will surely be celebrating today as his birthday just over a month after signing his 3 year $2.6 million contract extension with Columbus, but lets all wish Adam a Happy Birthday while we celebrate with some of his highlights!
