Flyers Fans Are Furious After Team Waive a Fan Favorite Player
Just announced minutes ago that the Philadelphia Flyers have placed Zack MacEwen on waivers and will designated for AHL. He was an extra today in practice and was not among the four lines, this decision clearly seemed like it was already made.
The Philadelphia Flyers, who were short a forward after an injury to Kevin Hayes, claimed MacEwen off of waivers the next day. MacEwen, who is known for his tough play and fighting record, showed true potential last year as a role player with upside. As a restricted free agent in the off-season, MacEwen was re-signed to a one-year, $925,000 contact extension with the Flyers on August 2, 2022.
In one year with the Flyers, he has 110 penalty minutes 3 goals, 6 assist for 9 points. He played in 75 games. A fan favorite to say the least. He will certainly be missed on the roster.
Flyers have placed forward Zack MacEwen on waivers for AHL assignment. Incredibly shocked. #HockeyTwitter— Frankie James 🎙 📸 (@FrankieStesk) October 9, 2022
