Experts Fear Forward May Have Played Last Game in NHL

Montreal Canadiens' long time forward, Paul Byron, is struggling to recover from hip surgery he had back in July. David Pagnotta said that it was going to be a 5-month recovery, but that may not be the case.

According to hockey journalist, Patrick Lortie, Byron's recovery is not going well at all and the Habs are fearing the worst.

Byron, 33, is entering his 8th year with the Canadiens, but he is going to have to wait awhile, at the least, to take the ice with his teammates. Byron was placed on long-term IR, which means he will miss a minimum of 10 games, but it looks to be a lot more than those 10.

Byron has been slowing down rapidly as he has 33 points over his last 3 seasons (102 games) while scoring 31 points in 56 games alone back in 2018-19.

This situation is tough for Habs fans, as they just went through a similar process with Shea Weber recently. We hope that Byron can get back out there, but he may have played his final NHL game after 12 seasons in the league.
