Evander Kane made quite the quick impact on the Edmonton Oilers success throughout the regular season and post season, most fans hoping he'll be back with the others but with his most recent tweet it seems as if his time in Edmonton may be done.
NHL reporter Kevin Weekes stated that Evander Kane's camp will be seeking/starting at $7,000,000 if he re signs with Edmonton, and $8,000,000 and above with any other team.
Kane has filed for bankruptcy in the past and it would be the obvious move for him to seek the most money if he is locking in a new long-term contract, but is that with the Edmonton Oilers?
Kane currently has a lawsuit going on with the San Jose Sharks, as well as attribution issues- if it overturns Kane's rights may be forced to return to San Jose- than the Sharks can move him wherever they'd like for their preferred price.
Kane took to Twitter to say what seems like a thoughtful goodbye message to Edmonton..
Thank you to all the fans who supported me this year. To everyone who doubted me, I thank you as well. To my Oilers teammates, appreciate each and every single one of you for welcoming me in and embracing me in such a genuine way. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to play with such a committed, hardworking and loyal group of men. The Edmonton Oilers are a first class organization with such great staff from top to bottom and I thank them for giving me the opportunity to play for such a historic franchise. To the fans of Edmonton I thank you for treating my family and I with such kindness and respect. Thank you, 91
