The Dallas Stars forward has been handed a $5,000 penalty, the maximum amount allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Critics argue that the punishment falls woefully short of the severity of Domi's action. Slashing incidents have historically resulted in suspensions, but in Domi's case it appeared to be a small love tap.
