It was a very special night for the Colorado Avalanche always having a decent team in the regular season but as Nathan MacKinnon said they never won anything in the playoffs now have a chance to.

After sweeping the Nashville Predators and then knocking off the St Louis Blues in 6 games the Colorado Avalanche and Edmonton Oilers were expected to be a 6-7 game series but the Avalanche had other plans in mind sweeping the Oilers 6-5 in overtime Monday night.
The Avalanche winner was scored by Artturi Lehkonen who came over to the Avalanche at the NHL trade deadline from the Montreal Canadiens for a 2nd round draft pick and prospect Justin Barron.
Lehkonen made NHL history last night as he became the first player to score series-clinching OT goals in back-to-back seasons to advance to the Stanley Cup Final since Gordie Drillon (Maple Leafs) in the 1938 & 1939 Semi-Finals
Lehkonen scored the game-winner in game 6 for the Habs to beat Robin Lehner of the Golden Knights leading the Habs to the Stanley Cup final for the first time since 1993.
