NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman has dropped a worrying update on the health of Panthers assistant captain Matthew Tkachuk, who is set to miss a considerable amount of time rehabilitating the injuries he played through in the playoffs.
For the 2nd straight year, the Florida Panthers are Stanley Cup champions, and they won it over the Edmonton Oilers.
It was the 1st rematch in the SCF since 2008 and 2009, when the Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins met each other in consecutive years, with each team winning once.
Panthers forward and assistant captain Matthew Tkachuk, proving to be one of the most consequential trades in recent NHL memory by Florida, played through some astounding injuries during the postseason.
There's a very real chance he could miss the 1st several months of the new year, per the latest report from NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman.
Friedman on 32TP: I think we will find out at some point here that (Matthew) Tkachuk will miss that start of the season, I think he will be back in time for the Olympics.
Tkachuk initially suffered the injuries while playing for the American squad in the 4 Nations Faceoff in February.
