The Chicago Blackhawks have interviewed longtime Detroit Red Wings head coach Jeff Blashill

With news of David Carle choosing to stick it out in Denver after being aggressively pursued by the Chicago Blackhawks, the dominoes continue to fall.

Rick Tocchet and Adam Foote are the recent head coaching hires in Philadelphia and Vancouver. But there remains talented coaches out there.

One available is Manny Malhotra who coaches the Abbotsford Canucks, but we're not sure if he's on their radar.

Former Detroit Red Wings coach, Jeff Blashill, is instead, according to NHL Insiders, CHGO Blackhawks.

Jeff Blashill was the last bench boss in Detroit before Lalonde took over. His tenure lasted in Detroit from 2015 to 2022. The Red Wings would make the playoffs only once in their first season, but would fail to replicate that success afterwards.

The Red Wings' record with Blashill? 204-261-70, and a .480 winning percentage. Just to give you an idea of the 51-year-old's caliber.

After he left the organization, he has been an assistant coach in Tampa Bay for the Lightning. While he's served as someone who would be viewed as a Head Coaching candidate elsewhere, the Blackhawks are one of a few NHL teams that are interested in him.

After firing Luke Richardson, who was supposed to be a coach who'd lead the team through the development phase of the rebuild, the team would fire him and hire Interim Coach Anders Sorensen in his stead.
