Ryan Reaves settles Bedard vs. Celebrini debate with unexpected comments towards the Blackhawks star

San Jose Sharks enforcer Ryan Reaves had some unexpected comments about Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard in the debate vs. Macklin Celebrini.

There are a pair of exciting 1st overall picks in the NHL right now for a pair of Western Conference teams that were once among the best teams in their conference and division.

Connor Bedard, who was taken with the 1st overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks, and Macklin Celebrini, taken with the 1st overall pick by the San Jose Sharks in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, are both trying to help their teams get out of the conference basement.

Neither team has made the playoffs in several years, and both players would like to change that.

Sharks enforcer Ryan Reaves, playing in his 1st year with the Sharks, said while guest appearing on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast that he thinks it's a joke if anyone says that Bedard is a better player than Celebrini.

Ryan Reaves Recently Said Macklin Celebrini Doesn't Get The Respect He Deserves

Last month, Reaves said that he doesn't feel that Celebrini gets the proper attention and respect that he deserves.

"I don't think he gets enough respect, that's for sure. I watched him play last year; he's up there with some of those [top] guys, if not better than some of those guys that people put ahead of him. He works hard. He plays the right way. You can see it just in the 5-on-5 and 4-on-4 skates that we had before camp. I expect a big year, just like I'm sure he does."

So far this year, Celebrini is outscoring Bedard with 18 points (7G, 11A) compared to Bedard's 15 points (6G, 9A).
