NHL referee Wes McCauley Goes Viral Again After Ejecting Head Coach Out Of The Game

NHL referee Wes McCauley made his famous penalty calls famous again as he went viral with his first call of the season.

The call came during the Nashville Predators and the Boston Bruins game when predators defenseman Luke Schenn and Bruins forward Mark Kastelic decided to drop the gloves and throw a few haymakers at one another. After the fight finished, McAuley gave the crowd his classic statement of
"Five minutes each for FIGHTING!"
The 52-year-old is the son of former NHL referee John McCauley. Prior to his career in officiating, he was a defenseman That played for Michigan State University for four years. He was then drafted in the 1990 entry draft by the Detroit Red Wings 150th overall. Having never played in the NHL, he played the bulk of his career in the ECHL along with the IHL and even played overseas for Milan of the Italian A series league.
His officiating career has spanned well over 1000 NHL games as he approached that milestone on December 23rd, 2018. He became well known online for his flamboyant penalty calls and video review which keeps the crowd interested and entertained.
