Analyst Gail Kauchak of The Hockey Writers has named Nazar as a prime breakout candidate for the Blackhawks in 2025-26.

The Chicago Blackhawks have gotten 3 consecutive top 3 picks in the NHL Entry Draft, but forward Frank Nazar, who was taken with the 13th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, appears to be ready to make noise.
Nazar was one of the bright spots on another poor Blackhawks team that missed the playoffs yet again. He had 26 points (12G, 14A) in 53 games this year, and he could be poised for a breakout.
Analyst Gail Kauchak of The Hockey Writers has named Nazar as a prime breakout candidate for the Blackhawks in 2025-26.
Seeing as Nazar has pretty much excelled at every level of hockey he's touched over the past year, it's safe to say this could lead to good things headed into the Blackhawks' 2025-26 campaign. There's no doubt Nazar will be given more minutes and more responsibility in all facets of the game in the 2025-26 campaign, allowing him plenty of opportunities to shine.

If Nazar does indeed break out during the final year of his entry level, $950,000 deal, it will be very expensive for the Chicago Blackhawks organization to re-sign him.
A good problem to have, honestly, and that may be why the Blackhawks didn't spend as much in free agency this offseason.
Nazar, who also played for the NCAA's Michigan Wolverines, has 27 points (13G, 14A) in 56 career NHL games. He also played for the American squad in the IIHF World Championships earlier this summer.

Frank Nazar could play on Chicago's 1st line with Connor Bedard

While Nazar had various roles on the Blackhawks in what was his 1st semi-full year in the NHL, one role was playing wing to Connor Bedard on the club's 1st line.
This is a role that he could fulfill again, though he's likely to start the year centering the 2nd line along with Tyler Bertuzzi and Teuvo Terevainen per the latest projections from The Daily Faceoff.
