A comparison between Connor Bedard and Patrick Kane's career stats leaves Blackhawks fans even more excited about what's to come in Chicago (and the Olympics).

After two seasons of developing in the NHL, Connor Bedard is finally showing his true colors on the ice. The Blackhawks' 2023 first overall pick has been having a breakout season, with 16 points in just 12 games so far.
With the way he's been playing, he is shutting down all the negative criticism he got since he entered the league.
Now, numbers prove that fans can expect him to bring glory and success back to Chicago, like Patrick Kane did.

Comparison Emerges Between Kane and Bedard: It Looks Good for the Future of the Blackhawks and Hockey in General

A clear comparison emerged between Bedard and Kane at the exact same point in their careers.
After 163 games played, Bedard scored 51 goals, 93 assists, and 144 points, with eight game-winning goals.
After 163 games played, Kane had 47 goals, 97 assists, and 144 points, with eight game-winning goals.
They also both won the Calder Trophy.
However, the main difference is that Kane played his rookie year at 19 years old and Bedard at 18, making Bedard's achievements in the NHL so far slightly more impressive.
Now, Kane is 37, and the two players still look for the same thing: helping their team win and making the Olympic rosters.
The veteran Red Wings forward has been limited to only five games this season due to an injury, but for him, winning an Olympic gold medal would be a dream come true:
"The one thing that's kind of missing is a gold in best-on-best, right? It would be fun to have that opportunity.

If you're playing well and somebody else is playing well, and they take somebody else, well, you know, so be it. I put my best foot forward and I did all I could to try to make the team. I was happy that I finished well last year and kind of got myself back into maybe the conversation again, but we'll see."

Bedard also opened up on his Olympics aspirations, although he's not in the same position as Kane, who's been a cornerstone of USA hockey for the past two decades:
"Of course, if that's something that I get to do, that would be unbelievable, and I would do anything to be on that team. But I'm trying to take things day by day and have fun playing in the NHL and trying to grow as a team and win hockey games and do everything I can to play my best hockey. In the end, that'll be what puts me in a spot to make it."

Fans can be happy with what's to come in Chicago. Bedard is poised for a great career with the Blackhawks, and if all bodes well, Bedard and Kane could even face off at the Olympics, which would be a great show not only for Hawks fans but also for hockey fans in general.
