Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard may have found his ideal linemate after Tyler Bertuzzi scored his 2nd career hat trick last night against the Canucks.

The Chicago Blackhawks beat the Vancouver Canucks 5-2 last night, and it was a hat trick from 2nd-year Blackhawks forward Tyler Bertuzzi that helped make things possible.

Bertuzzi has proven to be one of the ideal linemates for Connor Bedard, who also scored a goal into the empty net in his return to his hometown.

Bertuzzi has been playing on Connor Bedard's line, which also helped the Blackhawks break an 11-game losing streak against the Canucks in Vancouver.

Bertuzzi is in the 2nd year of his contract he signed last summer, and he could help Chicago inch closer to the playoffs if he keeps up his current play.

Jeff Blashill Already Knows Tyler Bertuzzi From Their Days In Detroit

Blackhawks coach Jeff Blashill, who is in his 1st year behind the bench since being hired during the summer, already coached Bertuzzi during their time with the former Chicago divisional foe Detroit Red Wings.

He said that even though Bertuzzi may not get the appreciation he deserves from those who see him from afar, at ice level, his work really stands out.

"He's a guy you appreciate more from ice level than you might from up top. Skating doesn't always look great, but man, he wins pucks, and that's kind of who he's always been for me.

He's great on that back post. He's really learned over the years how to build a wall on that back post and people shoot for it and they go in. It's a great way to score. 'Bert,' for me, has been very good all season, and he had another good one tonight."

Bertuzzi now has 10 points (6G, 4A) this year.
