Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard is on his way to Calgary for Canada's Olympics Orientation Camp, and he'll have a chip on his shoulder after not being invited to be part of the 4 Nations Faceoff roster.

Chicago Blackhawks Connor Bedard, the face of the franchise and their current most important player, has been given an invitation to join Canada for their Orientation Camp starting this week in preparation for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Bedard was one of over 40 invitees to Calgary this week for the Canadian roster, and he's already departed from his home in Vancouver to take part.
Bedard isn't guaranteed a roster spot on the final roster of the Canadian Olympic team, but it's a good sign that he was extended an invitation.
It's his chance to represent Canada on the biggest international stage after he was infamously left off the Canada roster for the 4 Nations Faceoff in February.

Connor Bedard was previously not included for Canada's roster in the 4 Nations Faceoff

Canada's general manager for the 4 Nations Faceoff was Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney, and he addressed the concerns that many fans had that Bedard wasn't included on Canada's roster.
Going through the second time around the League now, [so to] speak, in your second year, there are some challenges associated with that. He's working through that right now.

He's working through that situation where he gets all the attention possible from the best players he's playing against each and every night. So, I think he's living and breathing it right now, and it's only going to help him build his resume.

Bedard, who already has international experience for Canada earlier in his career, had 67 points (23G, 44A) in 82 games last year for the Blackhawks. He was the 1st overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
