Chicago Blackhawks 3rd overall pick declines substantial offer from the organization: He's been caught lying

Chicago Blackhawks 3rd overall pick Anton Frondell has reportedly thrown the organization a curveball as he revealed a change of plans on joining the team.

It was certainly a curveball for Chicago Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson when he was informed that his 3rd overall selection Anton Frondell had let him know that he will be declining his offer of coming to training camp and that he will not be joining the team anytime soon.
According to Scott Powers of The Athletic, Chicago was only informed by Frondell that he plans to return home to Sweden after they selected him at the draft.
«The Blackhawks learned more about Frondell's plan after drafting him. Originally, they hadn't ruled out his coming to training camp and seeing how he stacked up against NHL competition in preseason games,» Powers wrote. «But as the Blackhawks negotiated Frondell's entry-level contract and discussed what he sought for the upcoming season, he expressed his desire to return to Djurgården for another year.»

Anton Frondell declined an invitation to Chicago Blackhawks training camp

Frondell's decision to decline the training camp offer is very contradictory to what he stated during his interview after being drafted on draft day, have a look:
«If I get the chance to take a spot on the team, I will do everything I can to do that, to play,» Frondell said on June 27. «And if I'm not good enough, if I don't make it, I'm going back to Djurgårdens.»

Despite such a curveball piece of news to receive, the Blackhawks are reportedly "understanding" of the plan, as the SHL (Swedish Hockey League) will further Frondell's development.
Frondell is no fringe prospect; he has instantly improved Chicago's pipeline and become the best under-20 player within the organization.
It will be interesting to see how he will play next year for the Blackhawks after another season in the NHL, one thing for sure is that it'll be exciting for fans after receiving insight that that his NHL comparable is Aleksander Barkov.
