Chicago Blackhawks coach Jeff Blashill said Frank Nazar was one of his team's best skaters in the 3-0 win over the New York Rangers, even though Nazar didn't score again Wednesday.

Frank Nazar hasn't scored in 18 straight games, but Blashill emphasized the young center's all-around play was excellent and that points will come if the process stays strong.
Nazar, 21, has shown flashes of elite speed and playmaking this season, and Chicago is patient with him because he impacts the game in all three zones. Blashill spoke about being «over the puck, strong on the puck, and creating opportunities,» which he saw from Nazar against the Rangers.
Chicago improved to 13-11-6 on the season with the win, behind goaltender Spencer Knight's 21-save shutout, and multiple players contributing offensively. Connor Bedard continued his strong year as the team's leader in goals and points, while Nazar's overall game helped drive pace even without a point.
Blashill praises Nazar's effort and speed
Fans have been split on Nazar's recent output with the Blackhawks, especially after his early season scoring burst. Yet, many appreciated Blashill's confidence, noting that Chicago's young forwards are still growing into big roles.
After the social-media buzz built around the Rangers game, Blashill's quote quickly circulated on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting belief in Nazar's development rather than pure results.
Nazar has 5 goals and 15 assists in 28 games this season, solid totals for a player with under 100 NHL games, but the goal drought is what fans and analysts focus on most. Blashill pointed out that when Nazar stays engaged defensively and uses speed consistently, good things tend to follow.
The message from Chicago's bench boss felt like a rallying point: be confident in the process and trust the growth curve of a young man still finding his stride.
The Blackhawks now turn to a road game against the St. Louis Blues Friday, where Nazar will look to break through offensively once more.
