The Chicago Blackhawks skated without Teuvo Teravainen on Saturday and shook up their forward lines in response to his injury, a move that could reshape the team's offensive rhythm if he misses Sunday's game.

Teravainen logged 7 goals and 14 assists for 21 points through 25 games, providing steady puck management and transition offense for Chicago.
Teravainen's injury status was addressed by Blashill on Saturday, and it didn't sound very promising.
In his absence, the Blackhawks tried new combinations at practice.
Coach Jeff Blashill rotated younger forwards such as Landon Slaggert and Oliver Moore into expanded roles, while the usual power play looked much less structured.
Blashill admitted the swap unsettled forward rhythm, as Teravainen's puck-handling usually helped stabilize Chicago's middle six and smooth out exits under pressure. Chicago
One forward line: Connor Bedard centering a line with Moore and Slaggert, replacing the Bedard-Teravainen-Tyler Bertuzzi trio that gave Chicago its most stable looks.
Down the depth chart, veterans such as Ryan Donato, Jason Dickinson, and Ilya Mikheyev may see more even-strength and power-play time to compensate for Teravainen

New forward looks test Hawks' depth

There's a sense among fans that Chicago's offense will feel disjointed without Teravainen's calm presence on the half-wall, especially on power plays.
The new Bedard-Slaggert-Moore line gives hope for energy and speed but lacks the polish Teravainen brought at controlling zone exits.
If Teravainen can't go Sunday against the Anaheim Ducks, expect Chicago to lean on quicker cycle plays and net-front drives to generate chances. That shift may suit some young forwards, but it begs the question whether it will translate to consistent offense over a full game.
The Blackhawks now face a test of depth and adaptability. If the new lines click, it could ease the blow of losing Teravainen-but if they don't, Chicago's top nine might struggle until he returns.
