The Chicago Blackhawks 2025-26 season has developed nicely; are they back to dominate the Western Conference?

The Western Conference has dominated the NHL the past few years, as the Vegas Golden Knights, Edmonton Oilers, and Colorado Avalanche are teams that have made the West a living hell.
But now, the times are changing, and for the Blackhawks under Head Coach Jeff Blashill, things are different.
The Blackhawks one of six teams in the NHL that have scored more goals than goals against on the ice.
Putting them at +4 in goal differential for the season.
This is a positive development for a team that was a bottom-dweller last season.
"The Blackhawks are +4 on the season with 44 goals scored and 40 against. While the number of goals scored isn't excellent, it's solid given they are in the middle of the pack at 15th with a 3.14 goals per game."

Jeff Blashill Has Given The Blackhawks New Life

Goaltender Spencer Knight has been a huge help in giving the Blackhawks a chance to win every night.
"On the other end, the Blackhawks have been better defensively and in net with the help of Spencer Knight. The team has 40 goals against and ranks ninth in the league in goals against per game with 2.79"

Again, while they may be 5th in the Central Division, they have found themselves in a spot that could propel them higher into the division if they continue to find creative ways of winning.
But they'll need to provide Spencer Knight with the kind of support playoff teams are capable of, and that means scoring late in clutch situations (for example).
The team is 6-5-3 and 5th in the Central, and a win over Calgary tonight could be a great confidence-building result.
