Two Chicago Blackhawks prospects, Anton Frondell and Vaclav Nestrasil, will both be in hopes of securing a gold medal win in Monday's World Junior Championship final game.

Anton Frondell and Vaclav Nestrasil carry Chicago Blackhawks hopes into a World Juniors gold fight on Monday.
The Blackhawks have two 2025 first-round forwards going head-to-head for a gold medal on Monday.
Sweden and Czechia are set for a final that doubles as a mini Hawks prospect derby.
Anton Frondell got Sweden there the hard way on Sunday, beating Finland 4-3 in a shootout after a wild, tight game.
He logged 21:15, posted a primary assist, and then buried the eighth-round shootout winner to finish it.
The bigger picture is even louder: Frondell has five goals and three assists for eight points in six games at this tournament.
He's also the No. 3 pick from 2025, already signed to a three-year, $2.925 million entry-level deal with Chicago.

Blackhawks prospects Anton Frondell and Vaclav Nestrasil chase gold

As a Hawks fan, this is the kind of night that makes the rebuild feel real instead of theoretical.
Vaclav Nestrasil punched Czechia's ticket by helping knock out Canada, and he picked up a primary assist in the semifinal win. IIHF stats have him at seven points in six games, which lines up with the rolling production everyone has been tracking all week.
Nestrasil was Chicago's other first-rounder in 2025 at 25th overall, and the profile screams modern power winger. He's 6-foot-6, committed to UMass, and he put up 42 points in 61 USHL games with Muskegon last season.
No matter who wins Monday night, Chicago walks away with a prospect wearing a medal and a little more belief in what's coming next. NHL
